Dubai Property Developer Damac Move to Reading

The largest private property developer in the United Arab Emirates has taken up residence in Reading Berkshire. The developer Damac Properties which has over 16 international offices will be running their southern England operations from Forbury Square, Central Reading Berkshire in England.

 

In just over two decades, Damac has grown from a local catering company to a global conglomerate with operations in over numerous countries. Some of the notable projects are Dubai Marina, Palm Island Jumeirah, Palm Island Jebel Ali, Jumeirah Lakes Towers, Dubai Land and Dubai international Financial Centre (DIFC).

 

One of the most impressive projects is a 36-storey high rise building of serviced apartments which panoramic views of Dubai. The building Burjside Boulevard is said to be located in one of the most prestigious addresses in Dubai.

Damac Properties has secured a six-month lease in Reading on a 3,000 sq ft office and moved its 12 employees in to the Stonemartin-managed building last week. Oliver Hickey, DAMAC’s sales director, said: “We are an international company but the only southern UK office we had was in London” When asked why locate in Reading he said “Reading is a very up-and-coming, affluent area and we wanted to use it as a base to extend our reach further into regions such as Oxford, Guildford, Henley-on-Thames and Marlow, among others. Paul Spencer, Stonemartin’s director of regional sales, added: “Damac opening an office in Reading shows how far the area has come over recent years.”

 

Damac headquarters are in Dubai the developer states that it now has 9,500 customers’ worldwide providing luxury residential and commercial properties in places such as Egypt, the UAE and Morocco.
